Of late the business scools are giving more importance to the General Insurance education in PG in Business Management, more so in the finance & marketing areas.

Thrust is given more on

1. Practical Experience of the external faculty to be absorbed by the students

2. Placement opportunities to the candidates after PG course.

I was called by one of the leading Business schools in North India as external faculty for Engineering insurance for a course designed for about a week (In a planned programme for General Insurance subjects for a training period of 5months). Target placements were Insurance Industryin general, Insurance co. & Brokers to begin with in perticular.

It is heartening to note that business schools are slowly catching up & opening their eyes to the reality of finance market & raising to the growing demands of the industries.

After detariffing, competition is ever increasing & insurance education at the business grass roots is required.
