Anushka shetty, the reigning queen of South cinema is in the news again. After a brief lull, the hot star is back in the business in Kollywood.

The grapevine says, the Mangalorean beauty is to star in a new Tamil movie opposite Karthi. The yet-to-be titled film is directed by Suraaj. The actress who did not sign any project after Vikram’s Deiva Thirumagan, is happy to pair with the young hero who is going to tie his knot soon with Ranjani.

Director Suraaj, who recently came out with Dhanush’s Mappillai has reasons to cast Anushka for his next project. “She is one of the most talented actresses in the South, blessed with both beauty and performing talents. My character in my next movie demands both these… So, Anushka was my obvious choice!”

“The shoot is scheduled for September-October, after Karthi completes his film Saguni. The film is a typical Suraaj film, with both comedy and action mixed with sentiments and drama!”, the director adds.

Will the scintillating siren, recreate the same wave she commanded in the runaway hit Singam with Surya? With Surya’s brother Karthi in the lead, we hope she comes out with yet another sultry performance!
