Content – An Integral part of Link Building
Whenever a link building process is started, the main focus is always on building quality links on good and relevant sites. What skips the mind is the content of a link request.. It is, in fact, taken for granted. And one has to pay the price for it, sometimes quite dearly.
Generally people send link requests in a hurry as the whole link building process is tiresome in itself. Therefore, it bears the brunt for being too poorly written. So many link requests are loaded with grammatical mistakes. And if that is all right, some link requests are way too misleading to give even the slightest idea to the reader regarding what it is about. And a confused reader means one potential customer less.
Having said that, when we say ‘content’, it does not mean it has to be bombastic and sophisticated. You are not dealing with linguists here. Content should be such that it aptly conveys the objective to the reader in the first glance itself. It should be to the point. And talking about the content of a link request, it should make it clear to the reader that- you have sent the request only after going well through his site, you found the site compatible to yours in terms of relevancy, and you are genuinely interested and looking forward to share links with that site.
What is important is to follow a simple yet effective approach when it comes to content. It really deserves some efforts. For, you would not want your link building efforts to go down the drain just because your content was not worth giving a glance! If you have got your content right, you can be rest assured that visitors reading that content will surely visit your site at least once.
