have an option.
The world's top cellphone maker Nokia has launched a smaller version of N97
called N97 mini in India. Touted as a smaller mobile computer, the phone has a
few changes vis-a-vis its predecessor N97.
Here's looking into how the new Nokia N97 mini looks, features and pricing.
Looks
Nokia's
smaller version of N97 features a 3.2-inch touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard
built into its 14.2mm thin frame. It measures 113 x 52.5 x 14.2mm.
Nokia N97 also sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen with a QWERTY keyboard in a bigger
frame measuring 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is a full
3-row.
Features
Nokia
N97 mini will be Nokia's first device to feature Lifecasting with Ovi -- a new
partnership with the world’s most popular social network, Facebook. Lifecasting
enables users to update their Facebook status directly from the phone's
homescreen.
Memory
N97
mini packs 8GB of storage. The 8GB of on board memory can be expanded to 24GB
with the addition of a 16GB microSD card. N97 offers a powerful 32GB memory
with microSD for adding 16GB more (making it a staggering 48GB).
Camera &
battery
N97
mini features a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and video light. There
is a 4 digital zoom. The camera packs Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. Mini's elder
brother N97 too packs a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED
flash.
N97 Mini supports up to 12 days standby time and up to 28 hours music playback.
It supports video playback up to 210 minutes.
Price and availability
Available
in three colours -- Cherry black, Garnet and White -- Nokia N97 mini will start
shipping in the last week of November 2009 at Rs 30,939. Its predecessor N97 currently retails at
approximately Rs 30,000.
