Preity Zinta reveals her fitness secrects
Preity Zinta talks about fitness, food, work and energy boosters to Prevention.
She co-owns a cricket team, goes bungee jumping in New Zealand, and loves playing challenging roles. The ever-exuberant Preity Zinta does all this and much else with rare zest. We found out what keeps her going. What's your fitness routine like? I exercise every morning, that's a part of my routine. I also practise kick boxing it keeps me agile. I work out at the gym. I think Yoga is also a fantastic way to stay fit; I guess, slowly I will come around to it.
What's your diet? What about favourite foods?
I like idli-dosas, chaat, chhola bhatura. I'm actually a desi by nature I miss desi food when I'm abroad. I love kadhi chawal. I think I'm lucky that producers/directors often get their cooks along with the crew when shooting abroad. But I make sure I don't overindulge. I eat whatever I want to eat on Sundays and I believe in portion control. Balance is also important so I indulge myself but I balance it out by exercising as much as I can.
How do you keep your energy up?
Being an actor is not easy, it needs a lot of hard work even though I enjoy doing it. So here I am having flown half way across the globe from New Zealand to promote my new film. I enjoy my work and it keeps me going. I believe that : 'the fastest way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.'
How do you keep yourself motivated?
I think growth is very important. I often ask myself: where I am going? Sometimes I feel that 'I have been there done that,' then I immediately know I need change. I try to do different things, try different kind of roles, and develop my craft. I've learned a lot while I was working on Videsh. I want to feel that 'wow' factor in my head and that's what I try to achieve.
Are you happy with where you are now?
It is very difficult to be successful and I saw success early with some good movies. But I continue to learn new things with every film I do. I want to increase the body of my work and I'm also super excited about the IPL, I think it's going to get bigger and better. So, I have a lot to do movies and IPL, I think I'm happy with what I have!
