Online Targeted Advertising
There is a lot of talk about online targeted advertising. About a month ago, I read an article in the New York Times which described the strategies that American retailer Target uses to know more about its customers than the customers themselves know. In fact, they knew that a young lady was pregnant before her family did.
For reasons like that, there is a certain "ick" factor associated with targeted ads. There is a lot of talk about "Big Brother." A lot of folks are worried. I'm not. For as this email that I received shows, it's not exactly a perfect science. In fact, based on my political inclinations, the fact that I received this ad is downright comical.
