Cannot see output or logfiles. Gets 'Authentication failed' [ID 101592.1] Solution Description -------------------- The problem does not happen using Netscape. The problem can be avoided by having MS Word started up before trying to view the output or log. Explanation ----------- If MS Word takes to long time to start, IE probably reruns the request, but at this time the registration of the wanted output has been deleted. And this results in the 'Authentication failed' message. ***************************************************************************** Authentication Failed when trying to use Save As in the IE Browser Solution Description -------------------- The " Authentication Failed " while trying to Save As the output file seems to be specific to WIN2000 desktops clients when trying to save as type HTML or anything other than TEXT. Possible solutions: =================== A1. When previewing the report in a browser, click on View > Source. 2. Save the output of the report to the computer. 3. Open the file use Notepad or Word. B1. From Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options 2. On the General tab, in the "Temporary Internet files" block, select the Settings 3. Change "Check for newer versions of stored pages:" to "Automatically" 4. Save changes C1. Go Internet Explorer, select Options --> Advanced --> Security area. 2. Uncheck “Do not save encrypted pages to disk” 3. Save changes Finally after confirming all changes in settings, clearing history and deleting temporary internet files may still be needed .
