CAT ’10: Analysing your performance in Mock Tests

Software engg
As an addendum to our previous Article “Are you ready to take the CAT“, here are a few Tips on analysing your performance in Mock CATs.

Analysis is as much important as taking the tests. Analysis helps you to judge your performance. A thorough analysis should help you find out reasons behind how you answered a particular question (Correct, Wrong & Unattempted). The analysis of test should take place within a day of taking them.

Here is how you need to analyse:

For CORRECT answers, analyze if you solved them in the shortest time and with the shortcut methods.
For INCORRECT answers, find out the reasons for the mistake (silly mistake, conceptual flaw).
For NOT ATTEMPTED questions, try answering them again (without time limits). Chances are that there were questions that you could have solved and improved your score.

Focus on what you have gathered from the analysis. Spend more time on the sections which you have not been able to score.Refresh chapters that you are strong in, this helps you score even better in your next Mock Test attempt.
