Time Management Tips
Tips for time management.
Each new day has only 24 hours; 24 hours to find time for college, dance practice, football practice and assignments not mentioning all but a few things to complete. And if some time is spared social life can be fixed in the program. It is always challenging to fit all that stuff in your average day. However if you are armed with a plan to manage your time, you will accomplish your goals.
1- Plan first then execute – put your activities according to priority. Ask yourself which tasks are most important and concentrate your efforts. Figure out where you spend your time, write down which activities take extra time and which have none. List which tasks are most important in the long run and put them in rank order setting aside time each day for these long-term things.
2- Your time is valuable, treat it that way – time management is about efficient utilization of the time you have. Isolate yourself from distractions so you can accomplish twice the amount of work in the same amount of time. If mathematics or accountancy give you hard time when tired wake up and solve these in the morning. Self imposed deadlines can keep you moving on longer projects but treat them seriously.
3- If you need help, don’t feel free to ask – use the resources around you to manage time. Ask a faculty, friend or student counselor to help you. A faculty member can help you set a date to monitor progress on projects as long as you put effort on your part. A friend can remind you to complete an assignment and a student counselor can find an extra study period in your schedule. Ask these people for advice and recommendations they have got from past experience.
With everything that college life demands, you will run short of time occasionally, but through developing a solid time management plan and sticking to it, you will find it much easier to play around with the 24 little hours.
