Recovery Types
There can be various types of recovery scenarios or types , it’s totally depend on what needs to be recover and what is the backup policy.
It I necessary to consider recovery options while deciding the backup policy
Recoveries can consist of:
• REDO Log Recovery—Off-line or On-line log
• ROLLBACK Segment Recovery
• Tablespace Recovery
• Table Recovery
• Recovery of the entire database
• Recovery of executables
• Recovery of control files
Recovery can be of any of above type or any combination of above scenarios
I have visited a “horrible" client which has a unique recovery policy
