Stop Error 0x0000C1F5 May Call For Critical File Recovery Measures
Microsoft Windows Vista is known as the most reliable companion for all Windows trusting users. However technologically advanced this system may be, it is not without its share of problems. Whether it is virus attack, corruption of the file system, operating system bugs, application bugs, incompatible drivers, or bad blocks, the system does get affected by these. Another crucial reason for Windows Vista to not boot is corruption or absence of some of the system files. In case, one or more of them are corrupt or missing, Vista will refuse to boot. Needless to say, all the files stored in the system will become inaccessible, until you opt for file recovery measures.
Consider, one day after working for many hours on your Windows Vista based computer, you perform proper shut down of the same at night. And when you start it the next day, instead of getting the normal Welcome screen in front of you, you find the following Stop error message flashing on your screen:
'0x0000C1F5'
Needless to say, a blue screen teasing you with the above error message on it, bothers you. Not only does it not let you start your system, it locks all your files in the hard drive, with you not having any means to access you important files.
Reason:
The stated error message appears due to corruption of critical system file, $TxfLog file. The Clfs.sys driver which is the common log file system driver, cannot fix the corruption in the file.
Resolution:
The corrupt file needs to be repaired. To repair the file, boot using an installation disk that can help self heal such a problem. A Windows 7 or Windows 7 Beta installation disk will solve the purpose.
Insert the disk into the disk drive to boot the system from it.
Cancel installation of Windows 7.
The disk should reset the file with its self-healing code, and once done, your system should boot successfully.
Reboot your system.
But in case not, then you will need to perform clean install. Certainly, it means, all your data will be lost. But then in case you don't have an option, then this is the only way to get yourself back into action. As for the deleted files, a file recovery software will have to be used to recover all those files that were saved on the system, before the $TxfLog file became corrupt.
