The Post Graduate Diploma in Management– PGDM Programme is spread over a period of two years, divided into six trimesters. First Year Courses The courses in the first year provide a balanced foundation in the basic disciplines of management.
* Summer Training After completion of three trimesters in the first year, the students undergo Summer Training of six to eight weeks and submit a detailed project report. Second Year Courses Dual Specialization The PGDM Programme offers a unique feature of a Dual Major, where by a student can choose courses from two areas of specialization, thus having a broader choice of careers. The Second Year Courses are a mixture of core (compulsory) papers and electives in the specialization areas of their choice. There are five core (compulsory) papers (2+2+1) In addition the student selects two elective papers in each of the two chosen specialization areas, in each term (i.e. 2×2×3=12 electives)
Elective Subjects
** The Final Project The second year students undertake a six-month long research project, concurrently with their fourth and fifth terms. This is a crucial phase in their programme, as it involves an integration of their theoretical knowledge with the practical world of business. The project is selected by the student in their area of specialization and a synopsis is submitted as a project proposal to the faculty selected as the guide. Once approved by the faculty, the project is carried out under close supervision of the faculty member. The progress is evaluated at various milestones. A detailed report is presented by the student, which has to be presented before a jury, and successfully defended in the viva voce. The Final Project carries two credits |
