Discipline Towards Leadership

Attendance

  • 100% attendance in all academic and co-curriculars, is essential.
  • Exemption is allowed on certain specified aspects as mentioned earlier. If not fines will be imposed @ Rs.300/- per absence and fines are to be earned & paid. Not to be taken from parents.
  • If the attendance is below 90%, the student will not be allowed to take exams and tests. Also there are minus marks. Attendance will be compiled week to week.
  • Damage to anyone's property inside or outside the campus will attract fines, individual or collective, besides disciplinary action.
  • Absence from co-curricular activities will attract separate penalties including fines and doing double of the assignment / process / work / survey / activity.
  • A detailed code of conduct has to be signed by every student, which gives advance notice, to abstain from misconducts. It has to be countersigned by the parents, so that they remain informed of those.
  • We repose a lot of trust and faith in students and hence will be extremely happy and privileged if we are spared of taking unpleasant actions, by students being self disciplined and are of good character & behaviour.
  • On admission every student admitted has to sign an undertaking that he/she is joining SCMLD for employability / entrepreneurship building programmes with focus on execution / doing implementation / leadership skills rather than for a qualification and will participate in all action learning activities including learning / leadership crucibles as designed from time to time and also for formal qualification he /she will undergo IGNOU programmes as applicable. This also has to be countersigned by parents.

Dress Code
On formal occasions:

  • For gentlemen: Blue blazer, grey trousers, white shirt, tie and polished black shoes. Proper haircut & shave every day are essential unless religion dictates otherwise.
  • For girls: Uniform saree and blouse or uniform salwar kameez as will be notified.

On regular days

  • For gentlemen: Formals without blazer and tie. White shirt and grey pants essential. Well polished shoe and neat hair cuts (once a month) and daily shave are a must.
  • For girls: Saree or uniform salwar kameez as mentioned above / will be notified.
  • For yoga, workout, pranayama and outward bound : Track pants and T-shirts / track suits.
  • Sundays : Completely formal dress - girls in uniform sarees and boys in tie and blazers.
  • Wednesdays : Formal but no institute uniform.

Accommodation Rules (Hostels)

  • Attendance is taken at 9:30 - 9:40 pm every night. Inmates must present themselves for attendance without any excuses and sign the registers between 9:30 and 9:40 pm.
  • Only one night out is permitted per month, that too on the written request from parents received at SCMLD at least 24 hours in advance and students applying for it.
  • Girls shall not visit boys' accommodation or boys to girls' accommodation under any circumstances. Boys loitering around girls’s hostel area / gate, and vice-versa will lead to disciplinary action.
  • Landlords' complaints will also be taken cognizance of, in cases of students staying outside on their own (if permitted in certain cases).

Termination of studentship without notice, will be effected in the following cases:

  • Stealing or indulging in malpractices in exams / tests.
  • Sexual misconduct inside or outside the campus.
  • Intoxication / found inside the campus/hostels after consumption of liquor and/or drugs or found in possession of liquor, drugs, cigarettes, narcotic / psychotropic substances etc. inside the campus / hostel.
  • Wilful damage to institute's property.
  • Violence against anyone.
  • Does not clear the exams according to CGPA and exam rules.
  • If a student continues to indulge in misconducts even after two cautions / warnings.
  • Any attempt to hurt oneself or others whatsoever may be the reasons.

Intervention of Police

Incase of violence, assault, theft, possession / use of drugs, harbouring any person wanted in criminal activities, sexual misconduct, attempt to hurt oneself, etc. in the hostel / on campus, the institute will file police complaints as these are criminal activities and beyond the administrative jurisdiction of the institute.

No Capitation

At SCMLD there is no capitation. Please do not fall prey to any self styled middlemen or agents. No such person is entertained at SCMLD. We deal only with genuine / honest people.
