    In India, most MBA programs take two years for the completion of the course but there are some B-schools which offer one-year courses. Doing a one-year program is much better than doing a two years’ course because it saves time and you can gain the same knowledge in a year which you could have gained in two years if you chose the two-year program. And it’s much better if you’re a working professional because you’ll be able to go back to your workplace with a better qualification and better skills.

    With the economy back on growth track, there’s rising demand for suitable candidates for Senior Managerial positions. And so, more people are opting for one-year MBA programs these days. In order to apply for this program, you need to have work experience. This program is suited only for the work experienced students as they require a lot of skills and flexibility which is rather difficult to find in a fresher.

    In India, the number of B-schools offering one-year courses is very few. Some popular B-schools are SPIJMR Mumbai, Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) Chennai, ISB Hyderabad and School of Inspired Leadership(SOIL) Gurgaon. Students come with prior work experience in functions like Sales and Marketing, Finance, Project Management, Architecture, Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, Technology etc. About 25 per cent of the ISB students come with international work experience.
