The Disadvantages Of Hardware Video Conferencing
A Hardware video conferencing needs
i) Camera,
ii) Audio Device,
iii) CODEC Box, and
iv) Remote.
For video conferencing, one needs an internet connection and must connect to the CODEC box. The minimum bandwidth must not be less than 384kbps. A public IP address installation on the client server is must for video conferencing.
Few are the disadvantages of Hardware Video Conferencing setup:
1 – Restricted to one single Video Conferencing room (fixed location).
2 – Needs a minimum bandwidth of 384kbps leased line for per video (Per System)
3 – Additional MCUs (Multipoint Control Unit) require to connect additional locations
4 – Additional Software called “People Connect” requires to share data.
5 – For recording needs additional Hardware called DVR (Digital Video Recorder)
6 – There is no Upgradable facility in Hardware equipments to improve resolutions
7 – Hardware video conferencing supports 4 screen Telepresence
