40G CFP transceiver modules are prepared for use within 40 Gigabit Ethernet links over single mode fiber. They're compliant with all the CFP MSA1 and IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-LR42. Digital diagnostics functions can be found via an MDIO interface, as specified by the CFP MSA. The transceiver is RoHS-6 compliant and lead-free per Directive 2002/95/EC3.IEEE 802.3ba standard supports 40Gbit/s and 100 Gbit/s Ethernet frame transmission, while establishing a backbone network, the physical layer specification copper cabling, multimode fiber and single-mode optical fiber communication, to be able to alleviate future core network bandwidth "bottleneck "problem.

40G Ethernet transceiver is developed based on several standard sizes. CFP (C-type pluggable) transceiver has 12 10Gb/s transmit channels and 12 10Gb/s receiver channels only support a 100G 40G Ethernet ports or up to three Ethernet ports. Cisco 40GBASE-LR4 CFP module is supported through standard G.652 single-mode fiber with duplex SC connector link lengths of up to 10 kilometers. 40 Gigabit Ethernet signals along the four wavelengths. Four wavelength multiplexing and demultiplexing devices in the internal management. This module supports IEEE40GBASE-LR4 CFP and OTU3 C4S1-2D1

CFP-40G-FR

In 40GBASE-FR CFP module supports as long as 2 km link more than a standard single mode fiber with SC duplex connectors lengths. Implements 40 Gigabit serial optical rails. This module supports standards IEEE40GBASE CFP-FR and OTU3 VSR2000-3R2.
