Why mediclaim policy?
For
most individuals, tax breaks under section 80D continue to remain under
utilised. This section allows deductions for expenses towards purchase of
health insurance up to Rs 15,000.
Apollo DKV’s Maxima Health cover
Apollo
DKV’s Maxima Health cover seeks to take advantage of this under-utilised tax
exemption by allowing reimbursement for regular medical expenditure such as
pharmacy bills, routine diagnostics, visits to the general practitioner and
dental expenses, which are not covered under mediclaim.
The premium's benefits
For
a single adult, the premium ranges from Rs 13,795 to Rs 24,831, depending on
his age. The sum insured for hospitalisation treatment is Rs 3 lakh and the
vouchers that are handed out with the policy for outpatient treatment come with
sub limits.
For instance, the outpatient benefits include three consultations with a GP and

Rs 500, respectively. For diagnostic, dental and optical treatment, the
sub-limits are Rs 1,000 once a year while for pharmacy, the ceiling is Rs
2,000.
