“Entrepreneurship takes guts.” The age old saying which is now turning into nothing but an urban legend. IT enterprise has changed the look and the purpose of the entire market today. Start it from a beginner at data entry job or a CEO of any company, everyone feel lame without their system and facilities supporting them like Internet, Intranet, data card and many such more. The reason for successful entrepreneurial story starts with many unique failures and fears. One of the first questions you need to answer is: Are you facing such IT fears in your enterprise?

From the time we step into our own enterprise, we are constantly attached to the business world. The only medium for our attachment to such a world is through our Computer systems. We have general cautionary like everything to do things, what not to do and the importance of being careful just so that we don’t hamper our contact with our pre exiting professional world.Starting an enterprise is like plunging into a pool of opportunities but also we are cautioned about all the hard work and barricades we might run into with dead ends.

The development of IT has been on a huge scale starting from an electric switch to connecting two different continents making it seem like neighboring areas just meters apart. Even with such development there are fears which might stop us from improvising such technology. Looking at the new technology there are many fears which inculcate into individuals Now-a-days. Basically there has been a classification of such fears:

The Initial Fear As a person starts his or her entrepreneurial journey, fears surface from the very beginning. The investment in IT and technology is a decision which is always tampered by our friends and family. The right investments and the kind of facilities we might receive will always be followed by a “What if” stories from them like “What if something goes wrong?” or the operations are too expensive. Some may enlighten you about your family responsibilities and how you don’t have the luxury to be entrepreneurial and so on.

Ignorance Fears This fear is quite common among the veteran society of entrepreneurs. The lack of interests in learning something new in the field technology has resulted in collapsing of many castles of enterprise. It might be also considered by the opponent as lack of adaptive skills in enterprise to progress. If you cross this hurdle and start something, then you will meet colleagues, venture capitalists and other entrepreneurs who will provide a competition and warn you about your business model, your lack of ability and tough market conditions. These too are well-intentioned folks but as they say “people see what they choose to see.” At this moment you are again likely to succumb to the fear of failure and withdraw the steps you took towards being an entrepreneur.

Scaling Fears Let’s say you have crossed the above two hurdles. There will still be all kinds of folks, including employees, giving you advice. More often it would go like this: “it’s easy to run the company with all such low level technology, when you run a corporate with a high end technology then you will know.” Or “If your current clients get poached by competition, what will you do then?” Or “Have you made a three-year plan for your technological progress yet? The way you are going this business may not last very long.” Often the friendly “advice” is even worse.I’m sure every entrepreneur, young or old, new or experienced, faces these fears. Ratan Tata must have faced a fear of the involving all the IT features in the Nano ever seeing the light of day. Steve Jobs will surely have faced the fear that the iPhone could fail. I’m sure many entrepreneurs who are reading this faced the fear of what recession would do to their businesses.

The Antidote to FearSo now that we have identified that fear is the top reason for entrepreneurs to backtrack and avoid IT greatness to spread and so we need to discover the opposite of fear. How do I stand up when fear stares me in the face? The answers lie in the question we pose for ourselves and the answer is Adaptation. This way the fittest survive keeping in mind the growth of the industry we are in and learn the upcoming methods to propagate further and make use of the IT technology to maximum for growth of the enterprise.
