Basic of internet wireless at Home
Having wireless internet in your home is very common; In fact it is what most people choose to do these days. People like the freedom to access the internet from whichever point they are in their home, for example you can use your laptop while watching the TV or stream a film online while you are lying in bed. So there is no need for cables any more. Now the question arises: how easy it is to set up wireless in your home and how on earth do you do it?
Here are some basic rules set out for you, so you have a rough guide to help you on your way to going wireless at home:
In order to have wireless in your home, you really need to have a high speed internet connection in your home, such as broadband. If you wish to go for wireless you cannot use dial up, you need is an ISP who provides either a DSL modem or a cable modem. Usually you will be signed up to a provider, something like , www.ClearWirelessInternet.com. If you are in the US, you will pay them a monthly fee. Once you've got the ISP and the modem then you are ready to go.
Next, make sure you have an operating system which supports wireless networking. You may be surprised to find out that not all operating systems are fully able to deal with a wireless network. Of course, the newer ones will be able to deal with it.
Your computer or laptop should have built-in wireless networking support or at least a wireless network adapter. These days it wouldn’t be a problem because all laptops and computers will already have built-in wireless capabilities. However you need to check it before you bring your computer, if your computer doesn't already have it, say it's an older model, than this can quickly be resolved by getting a wireless network adapter.
Finally this may sound obvious, but a lot of people will try and do without the operator's instructions. Make sure that you have the guide on you. Don't discard them or leave them to one side. You'll be surprised by just how useful instructions can be and how quickly you will get everything set up. You need to realize that all routers are different, so you must check the instructions to make sure you are setting it up correctly.
And there you have it. Now you can have "wireless" system setup in your home for easy access. “Happy browsing!”
