PHD Seminar On Small And Medium News Papers

It was first the television invasion, and then internet incursion which has jerked the small and medium news papers in the country and has forced them to either close down or put them to high struggle level to survive in their respective places especially in small towns. 

A high profiled seminar and discussion was planned on the challenges and solutions of small and medium news papers in India by the Entertainment and Media Committee of PHD Chamber at New Delhi. The seminar was formally inaugurated by the Lt General K.M.Seth the former Governor of State of Chattisgarh. 

“A lot more interest is to be shown by the Government for the survival of Small and medium News Papers, especially the Government advertisement is to be divided proportionately” said K.M.Seth in his keynote address. 

Explaining about the need of small and medium news papers in the country Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of Entertainment & Media Committee motivated all the owners and editors of the papers attending seminar from all over India. 

Santosh Bhartiya former Member of Parliament and Editor Chauti Duniya expressed,” a strong association of news papers is required to pursue there demands from the government”

Present on the occasion Khurshid Ahmad Ganai  Joint Secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India assured that something more can be planned by the Government for the small and medium News Papers and noted down all the suggestions recommended by the house. 

Others who spoke on the occasion were senior vice president PHD Suman Jyoti Khaitan, Secretary General PHD Susmita Shekhar, Asian School Of Media Studies Adl. Director R.K.Singh, Secretary E&MC Yogesh Srivastava.
