- According to the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, the cumulative FDI inflows from April 2000 to January 2012 amounted to US$ 32.2 billion.
- Of the total outstanding investments of US$ 103.1 billion in 2011-12, the services sector had the highest share of investments at 69.5 per cent.
- Investments were also made in real estate (18.3 per cent) and electricity (10.7 per cent) sectors in 2011-12.
