What is changing in the environment:

1. New breed of professionals are Pagans. They have their own style of approaching professional life which may be quite and at times radically different. These kids know no fear, most have had a good upbringing and they usually got what they wanted. They bring the same approach to the workplace.

2.They are Resourcefull. Connectivity through social networks and informal meetings have been redefined by this generation.

3. Working hard is ok for initial years , after that it is all about delegating and working smart.These guys can be very pushy bosses.

4. They will know your boss or even better your bosses boss. Super networker in them knows that this will pay off in long run. 

5. They are conscious of their Career. Most will have predefined growth targets. Each day is a step towards achieving that desired Goal.

6. They have a good support structure. Mostly with both husband and wife working, there is good exchange of what works in the corporate structure.

So your environment just changed. Dont you see forty somethings taking critical decisions, joining as CEOs, CXOs or better still becoming close confidant of the Chairman / MD and joining the Clique.

Is there hope still for 50 something. I think there is , but that will have to wait for my next post. Till than just observe what had changed in your environment and we can discuss that next time.
