Bimatoprost is used to treat hypotrichosis (abnormal growth of the eyelashes). This medicine helps to increase the growth, length, thickness, and darkness of eyelashes. This medicine may also use to treat glaucoma. After using bimatoprost if a person experience severe eye irritation, eye pain or vision changes one should immediately call a doctor. One should not use this medicine if one is allergic to it. And before consuming this medicine one should discuss it with doctor whether one was having any history of glaucoma or increased pressure inside the eye, if any swelling in and around the eye and a history of eye injury and eye surgery. Application of bimatoprost should be undertaken properly and carefully. One should follow the directions given by the pharmist or doctor properly. This liquid form medicine is to be applied on the upper eyelids. Bimatoprost is to be applied once in a day in evening, and one should apply next day at the same time on which he/she applied on the previous day. One should use this medicine as per the prescription one shouldn’t use more of it as it would not increase more eyelashes if used more. Bimatoprost will start showing effective results starting from 4 weeks up to 16 weeks. This medicine is not to be given to a person who is below 18 years of age.

One stop using bimatoprost in case of severe burning or itching of eyes, vision problems, discharge from eye and increased sensitivity to light.
