Changing Career in Middle Age

Managing Editor
No doubt, a person sets up his career after a continuous effort. When he or she reaches in his or her middle age, becomes master of the concerned field. But, if the field is growing then there will be no problem at all. On the other hand, if the concerned field faces a sudden business problem, it becomes dangerous to the employee who has spent his/her precious time of a long years. In that situation, when an employee wants to change his/her respective area of the career, he/she has to change the position in the same field although there will be no growth of that field.

Whenever an employee wants to switch a particular growing field where he has no experience faces a big problem in selection. If he is selected, he faces the biggest problem and starts as a beginner although he holds a senior position in a particular field. And in this case, sometimes he has to compromise with his salary.

Several employees face the  utmost challenge during recession. Those who overcome it, still face the challenges everyday. After the sixth pay commission, government employees benefitted a lot. They got handsome increment. But those who are working in private or public organization have not received the desired increment in comparison to the government bureaucrats. There are rising inflation everyday in every arena of the human lives. Prices of essential commodities are rising high day by day but there is only consolation announced by the respective constituent delegates which does not come in the reality before the general public. Employees working in public organization face more challenges everyday.

In general, Budget 2011-12, government exempted tax of up to Rs 1.8 lakhs. But do you think, is it appropriate limit? A person who is earning Rs 5 lakhs per annum and have 3 to 4 dependents, the sole earner of his family can't run on a good LIC policy to exempt Income Tax under Section 88. If he really accommodates a rental residence, can't save much to run on LIC and other policies for the family and his/her own security. He has to compromise with his children education. He faces difficulties to pay tax which may be above Rs 10 thousands.

Income tax for the employees should be on the basis of proportion to dependents and his income. A grocer who is earning more than 2 lakhs in a month or 24 lakhs in a year is not paying any Tax, but an employee who is earning more than 1.8 lakhs in a year is eligible to pay IT. Very strange! Can Mr Finance Minister explain about this truth!

The Budget of the financial year is very much important for the general public who has hand to mouth salary and the people who faces the dreadful situation of the dearness of the general commodities of the daily uses. This budget has not enticed the people who are married and have two or more children and getting a fixed amount for survival.

Now, in a nutshell, we can say that it is very difficult to change his/her career after reaching at a middle stage of the life. May God save the general public like us from the strangulation of the most corrupted politicians who have got the throne of the richest country ---"India"---in the world which has also even accepted by the World's most powerful leader "Barrack Hussein Obama".
