Move on the Life's Curve

When we talk about planning our long-term goals in the personal arena or on the professional front; we bring in the debut of Need and the Ability to achieve our goals. But what we don’t keep in track is the Environment and the Time-frame to attain the objective. Considering the Product Life-Cycle (PLC) Concept, let us analyse our life on the same lines…amazed? Well, it’s just a way to orient ourselves as a product (created by god), competing with our fellow beings and would eventually have an end as a Brand (may or may not)!! We define a product as “anything that is capable of satisfying customer need”. And so are we as individuals, born to satisfy the needs of others as well as of our own. As a Human Produce, we should manage ourselves carefully over time. Thus, PLC stages can be transformed into Person Life Cycle (P’LC), through which WE develop over time. Even the Person Life Cycle (P’LC) has four stages: introduction (birth); growth; maturity and decline (death). Introduction Stage: The momentous day when I was born, trying to justify my existence with every cry (propaganda). With a new name, a new family, a brand in the making…on the other side, my parents have vaguely drawn my life-line; Full of aspirations, dreams, achievements and accolades. The process was initiated way back when the doctor confirmed my arrival. In addition, the expenditure is high— celebrations and cordial announcements are made with pomp and show…I AM HERE! (That’s what we call promotion!). The process of injecting the serum of ethics, culture, family values was started, while I kept wondering sitting in my mother’s lap – What is going on. Finally, the society has started accepting me as a part of THEM! Congratulations!! ‘Move on my friend… for it’s just the beginning; shine to out-shine others!’ Growth Stage: I grew with my parents, with my friends, with enemies, with well wishers & foes. Focus on Education and Health led to the development of an emotionally sound and Physically fit individual. Here I begin to perform, to seek attention, to outstand, to come up to the expectations, started imbibing qualities, polishing one’s traits (for good and bad!), racing on the path of endless hurdles and bridges (just like a product, competing with the best in the market). But how will I derive profit? Is it about monetary gains? Yes indeed! The monetary gains characterised by self-growth and tangible achievements. “Time to sell yourself, else you are out-casted.” Maturity Stage: this stage has nothing to do with white hairs or wrinkled face…I AM GROWING! The time is to prove one’s mettle (face the competition, as a product, as an individual). Market yourself in the right way. Now I’ll be a wife, a mother, a professional, an individual backed with responsibilities and belief, to play her part well. Look at yourself and think of a makeover and then re-orient your plans accordingly. Priorities are set and the implementation process begins— towards a better position, heavier pocket and a new life to be discovered! Charge yourself…the race is ON!! Decline Stage: Looking at my son, I’ll be wandering what will be his future. For me, the battle will go on till death and the degradation has begun. Now every morning I’ll self-actualise my life—the good & the Bad, The right & the wrong, the success & the failure, the past and the present. I will surely be among the objects to treasure. Am I losing my being? I eat, drink, and breath; this is all I wanted to do? No!! Don’t end yourself as a product, before the actual End! You are ALIVE! We began our journey as mere commodities…But we should choose our end: as a product or as a Brand– equipped with emotions, values and the potential to evolve. Now the decision is yours: to survive or let it go… P.S-After all marketing is driven by live examples or say, living as examples!! :) - Not my original composition..
