NIIT MBA scores on corporate connect; offers assured jobs

The 2010-12 graduating batch of NIIT University (NU) has been assured placements by some of India’s leading companies that include Fortis Healthcare, Coca Cola, ICICI Bank, Jubilant Organosys, Biocon, Ernst & Young (E&Y), NIIT Technologies and NIIT. Its unique Mentorship program will ensure whether the class room teaching can be applied in the real world. Several CEOs will serve as mentors to NU MBA students. NU also provides you the opportunity to participate in an International Immersion Program in emerging economies like Africa and China, where graduates will study in a seamless learning environment, Moreover, extensive connectedness of NIIT University with industry through six months, or a full semester industrial training for undergraduates or an Internship for post graduates will help students graduate as a future-ready MBA.

Every MBA student at NIIT University will be guided by an Industry Mentor who will be an eminent corporate leader. The Mentorship Program will comprise a number of interactive sessions between the mentor and students assigned to him, where a dialogue takes place. The mentor will be completely aware and updated about the student’s background, performance and aspirations. Hence, these interactive sessions will provide a great opportunity for students to receive specific customized guidance from senior corporate leaders.

International Immersion Program (Elective) will provide an international exposure to Management Education and local industry in an emerging economy, like China. The four-week trip will comprise one week of immersion in the ongoing classes and activities of a reputed business school, followed by a guided tour of local industry for the rest of the period. This will enable students to contrast education and industrial practices in another emerging economy in comparison with India. This will also enhance their global perspective, self-confidence and personality development.

The NU MBA will be supported by strong placements of its 2010-12 graduating batch. The students admitted in August 2010 have already been committed placements by a group of six companies. In order to provide students further internship and placement opportunities, 20 companies have been listed and 100 companies are targeted for listing in two years’ time. Campus recruitment will take place in the fifth term.

Apart from the above mentioned industry linkages, linkages will also take place through industry participation in the selection process. These will consist of a large pool of professionals who will serve as Visiting or Additional faculty particularly for the Professional Effectiveness category of courses, 10 per cent of class-work in almost every course will be devoted to existing industrial practices related to that course, and industry participation will also be there in the supervision and evaluation of the Business Plan Preparation project. An Incubation Centre will be established to speed up successful R&D projects from the drawing board into commercialization through their implementation as live projects, or for patenting, licensing and technology transfer.
