Business with a revolution is never a bad idea…...and that’s what we plan to do.

Transportation is the back bone of any developing or developed region without dubiety and India with its vastness and strong demographic nature has a great scope and demand for multi modal transportation system.

The business concept is based on adding value to urban transportation(DELHI). We plan to introduce eco friendly bikes (e-bikes) as a two wheeler taxi for single person commuting, where in the bikes would be battery operated and efficiently carries a single person to his desired destination at a reasonable tariff hence making it cost effective, viable and useful for him. The idea is to steer the surface transportation business to a systematic, organized and corporate level for streamlined operations and more profitabil

At the outset we would cite a fact that this kind of transportation model is already prevalent in many major cities of the world (London, Bangkok, Paris) and running successfully nevertheless the model is not systematic and organized and is done by regular petrol run bikes because of low petrol cost and the fare is affordable because of higher income of the people. The market segmentation we intend to target is very large and not to forget Delhi is one the most populated city in India (around a crore) and a very encouraging data states that Delhi Metro transported around 1 billion people in last 7 years. So we can easily make out the amount of people who travel within the city and need public transportation on a regular and habitual basis. Number is our strength and majority of middle and lower middle class people on the road only add to this great composition and make the scenario better and viable for this kind of concept to flourish.

E-bike taxi would be very instrumental in filling the void between bus and auto rickshaw commuting. For example the fare of bus commuting in Delhi is Rs15 for the farthest distance but sans comfort and availability and speed(due to long route and traffic jams) whereas auto rickshaw charges anything between Rs100 to Rs150 for the same kind of distance, so we plan to launch e-bikes to profit from that gap because Delhi is a busy city and people wont mind hiring an e-bike on feasible fare for rapid transit, comfort and more hospitable behavior by the driver. The main aim of an ordinary person on the road is to get a feasible medium of transport which solves the purpose. An electronic bike is a very cost effective medium of transportation and would easily run for 150 to 200 km on a single charge and would cost astonishingly less than other conventional fuel. Also other stream of revenue can be generated through advertising activities.

VALUE PROPOSITION

It is true in every sense of the word that when cost is long forgotten, services are remembered. A business which adds true value to the life and work of the people never faces dearth of consumers which can be supported by citing the examples of numerous successful ventures which added value to our lives and changed the way we worked for good.

CONSUMER : An e-bike would provide a very cheap, hassle and stress free mode of transportation to a user with low tariff and hospitable assistance by a trained driver. One of the USP of a sleek e-bike is that it can be maneuvered easily in times of high traffic and narrow passages unlike auto rickshaws, cabs and buses. For example people usually have to switch between multiple modes of transportation in a single one way trip like metro-bus-auto rickshaw-cycle rickshaw. Now hiring an e-bike on a fixed tariff a consumer can cover the whole distance on it and hence save time and money.

INVESTOR : The concept being of a very unrestrained nature indicates more investments and more returns. Starting with Delhi the business has ample of scope in other metropolitan, 2 tier cities and upcoming urban setups. The nature and profile of all the Indian metropolitan cities are by and large the same, densely populated, more of middle and lower middle class population, vastness and lack of proper and adequate transportation system, and phase to phase expansion means more improvement, learning lessons which is going to help in further smoothening and perfection. So we can say we have lots of playgrounds to play.

SOCIETY : A reflective change may take sometime to find roots but the result is always a concrete goodwill through a common man perspective, which every corporation strive to achieve but not many get it.

The carbon emission crisis, which is getting humongous with each passing day and the ill effect it leaves behind is irreparable and thankfully there is a chorus of disapproval against it .A very encouraging trend coming to fore in Delhi and other part of the country about acceptance and promotion of clean and alternative fuel by the people and the respective governments is enticing and indicative enough to pioneer such project. We can straightforwardly state that usually conformist corporations carryout CSR through business and we here are talking about Business through CSR.

MARKET ANALYSIS

The market segment is large as discussed above and the growing economy will help boost up this campaign, people are working , studying or fulfilling their social commitments, they are bound to hit the road every now and then, to support the above statement refer to the data below.

Population projection for NCR region

2011 – 486 lacs

2021 – 641 lacs

2031 – 862 lacs

52% commuters coming to delhi do not own a vehicle

48% commute for job

18% commute for educational purposes

16% commute for social reasons

Course The times of India

Now these figures just represent the commuters who travel to delhi for various reasons and are in dire need of transportation, we can well imagine the whole picture if we include Delhi…It gives us a market segment of millions to trap, It’s a win win situation for us and the commuters. So by and large we can say we can target people like students, office goers, tourist and people who are commuting for social purpose. And also we can use the bikes as feeder services for other mode of transport like metro, local trains etc.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

The main competitors we have identified are listed below.

1). Metro and Local trains- They have a fixed route, no flexibility and less comfort also ou have to travel to a station to avail them.

2). BUSES – They again have a fixed route, bigger in size so chances are more to get stuck in a traffic jam, also the inhospitable behavior by the operator adds to the pain and highly crowded.

3) Auto Rickshaws – High fare, inhospitable behavior ,
