Droid Razr Maxx Offers Unprecedented Battery Life
The Droid Razr Maxx is essentially the original Droid Razr, albeit 0.07 inches thicker and a little heavier, giving it a more premium feel. The Maxx’s main, killer difference and “feature,” is its unprecedented battery life. According to Tech Crunch, the battery life of the Razr Maxx is twice as better. Meaning, in the real world, you can use the phone’s 4G LTE and WIFI for about one and a half days before you need to charge it. InfoWorld reports that the Maxx’s battery is enough for a day, even with “moderately heavy use,” all while using 4G LTE. Motorola advertises that you can listen to music for two and a half days, non-stop, and that you can browse the internet for 7 hours in a row, numbers that testing in the real world is validating. Although the main draw to this Razr is the battery life, it is a solid phone all around. It has a Super AMOLED display which rivals iPhone’s Retina display, a dual core 1.2GHz processor, an 8MP camera on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, and, of course, supports for Verizon’s 4G LTE’s network, which is the fastest 4G network.
The new Droid Razr Maxx is priced at $299.99 and the price of the original Droid Razr has dropped to $199.99, making buyers of the battery power starved Razr a little angry, who bought the phone less than 3 months ago. By focusing on battery life, Motorola has made its Maxx one of the most sought after phones on the market (at least at the time this article was written). The only negative is the fact that Motorola seems to release a new phone everyday.
The Droid Razr Maxx is powered by a 3300mAh battery, the largest (or at least one of the largest) battery ever seen on a smartphone. What’s most impressive is that the Maxx is nearly the same as the Droid Razr and makes no compromises, meaning some technological innovation was needed to make the Maxx’s other hardware components small, yet powerful.
