My Laptop Will Not Charge or Work Off of a Power Outlet

Troubleshooting laptop power issues can be a bit tricky. Power issues can have many possible causes. The most likely cause is a problem with the Apple AC adapter that plugs your charger into the wall.

Battery

A lack of charge is sometimes due to a bad battery. Computer batteries degrade over time, losing their ability to hold a charge. If you've had your laptop's battery for two or three years, the battery may be the problem. A drained battery is the likely cause if the laptop stays charged for a few minutes before losing power.

Outlet Problems

Try plugging a different electronic device into the power outlet that you normally use to charge your computer. The outlet is probably faulty if the other device doesn't work. Try plugging the laptop and the other device into a different wall outlet.

Short Circuit

A short circuit can occur within your computer when the internal components are damaged, such as when liquid is spilled on the computer. This causes all available power to instantly be consumed, leaving none to actually power the laptop.

AC Adapter Problems

Try using a different AC adapter if possible. If your Fujitsu AC adapter has an LED light on it, it may not come on if the adapter is faulty or damaged. You can usually purchase a replacement through your laptop's manufacturer on their website.
