Long web page load time could kill your website. There are many reasons why your website is slow, like incorporate html code, scripts, web server, your location, etc. But if you’re running a website with a lot of flash banners, flash movies, SWF games, etc., the SWF files may be one of the problems. In that case, by reducing SWF file size, you can reduce the website load time.

SWF video is made up with many elements and each element can make the final SWF file size larger. Today I would like to introduce a SWF compressor for you to compress the SWF file size and thus improve the website load speed.

Leawo SWF Compressor for Mac is a SWF compressor for Mac users to compress SWF file size by up to 70%, while keep focus on retain a reasonable quality. It supports batch conversion so you can save a lot of time energy to import multiple SWF files into the program and press “Compress” to finish the task at a time.

Run the program and click “Add” button to import SWF files. Then you will see the main interface of the program, which can be divided into 3 parts: Toolbar, Task List and Settings Panel.

The SWF files you inserted will be shown at the Task List, you can see the name, original size and processing status here. On the right is the Settings Panel. You are offered with 6 pre-settings, which provide different grades of compression. You can choose one to save your work, or if you want some personalized settings, you can customize every single parameter yourself.

For each SWF file, we grouped its parameters into 5 categories: Image, Shape, Sound, Video and Font. Click the “Show More Options” button and you will see the extended settings below. For every group, there are several parameters, which you can select or tune the value to get the compression ratio you want. For detailed SWF compression settings you may need to refer to the tutorial of Leawo SWF Compressor for Mac.

One last thing I need to tell you is that by compressing SWF file, there will be quality loss, especially when you compress the image, shape, video part. So be careful to choose a proper compression parameter if you want to keep an acceptable quality for the output SWF file. We do suggest you to apply a default setting. Among all the pre-settings, “Best” is recommended for it generates smallest output but not the least quality.
