Hypertension means high blood pressure. Hypertension prevension includes maintaining a healthy weight, being physically active, following a healthy eating plan that emphasizes fruits, vegetables, low fat foods, preparing foods with less salt (less sodium)
The following points needs attention:
1)Healthy eating plan reduce risk of high B.P. & lower an elevated B.P.
2)Reducing salt & sodium in diet: Current recommendation is less than 2.4 gm of sodium a day.
3)Maintaing a healthy weight: Overweight increases risk of high B.P. Blood pressure risk rises as weight of body increases.
4)Being Physically Active: It is an important step U can take to prevent & control high B.P. It reduces risk of heart disease.
5)Limiting Alcohol intake: Alcohol can raise B.P. It harms liver, brain & heart.
6)Quite Smoking: It injures blood vessels & speed up the process of hardening of the arteries & increases B.P.
