Desperate ICICI People
Every day or two we mostly get call from banks to take credit card and all products. Well that’s their marketing strategy so no offence… But now be aware of ICICI bank Customer care calling you for your convenience, they are not for your convenience but they will be forcing you to buy something (Note: Forcing not Requesting). This Happened on Dec.27 2008. Here how it went
On a fine Saturday morning I was having my tea and working on my system my cellphone rings with melody
Other side of the phone was a Customer Care Of ICICI and here goes the conversation
C/C: - “Hello Mr. Mohanty I am Shiv on Behalf of ICICI Credit Card Customer Service Chennai. How are you?”
Me- “I am fine thank you how are you”
C/C: - “Mr. Mohanty are you having any issue regarding Credit Card. “
Me:- “I had some issue but I resolve it some days back, but thanks anyway.”
C/C:” Mr. Mohanty you have done an insurance for your mother from ICIC Lombard we have send you the card to your office address but because you were not present there so the card has returned. It is for the Preferred Customer of ICICI Credit Card. And you have to pay a premium amount of Rs.XXX per month…….. (& he goes on….)
Me (after some thinking):- “But I don’t recall that I have taken any policy!?”
C/C: - “No Vikash you haven’t but we are giving it form our end we already issue card for you”
Me:-“Why should I take if I haven’t apply for that”
C/C: - “When did I say you have applied we have given it you”
Me (in little bit of anger):-“I don’t want it”
C/C (in an irritating tone):- “It’s not compulsory 70% people took it and 30% they don’t. If you want you can cancel it. For that you have to go through a process to cancel.
Me (totally fucked up):-“Why the hell should I go through any process if I haven’t apply for anything”
C/C (with harsh tone):-“Sir I am telling you the process where you can save your money for canceling the card.”
Me:-“What the ****..? Listen I haven’t applied and I am not going to do any thing to cancel the card”
C/C: - “Listen sir you should to go through the process to cancel or else you have to pay the installment from next year onwards.”
Me:-“Get lost man is this way you talk you your customers”
C/C (same harsh tone):-“Sorry sir but you HAVE TO PAY if you won’t cancel it.”
Me (yelling):-“Fuck up jerk. I will cancel the credit card itself”
C/C:-“Ok you can do it. (And cut the phone)”
I was like frowning in anger. Just while I was taking this matter with my friends my phone rang again. Here it goes.
Me:-“hello”
Her:-“Good morning sir I am xxx (some name). If I am not wrong you have ICICI credit card.
[I was waiting for her to speak more so that I can yell at her, Guess what she did the same bull shit what the other as***** just done (but not in harsh tone)]
Me:-“A guy just called me up and talk in a rubbish tone about taking some insurance card. And I am going to launch a complain against them”
Her:-“Who called you up sir”
Me:-“ICICI
Her: - “But we are calling for ICICI Prudential insurance.”
I was talking her in anger saying that I don’t want this bullshit any more. But she keeps saying the benefits of taking the policy.
Me:-“Listen I am just in very bad mood and really don’t want any policy this time. Please understand ‘mama’.
Her:-“Sorry to disturb you sir (and hang up)”
So the moral of the story is that The ICICI people gone crazy because of the economic slowdown. They just want to sell their products forcefully. Even I talked one of my friend He also faced similar kindda problem.
How can you justify this kindda practice?
