Politepreneur-III: Obama-strategy
In business CEO moves his/her strategy as market demands and/or evolves. Primary goal of a contemporary business is profitability within the ethical frameworks. However, public leadership’s vision, mission and goals are beyond the tenure of his/her office. Public leadership is most often shall paradigm-shifting rather than managing budgets and executing plans.
Task of paradigm shifting needs vision that very few could see (at the beginning) and leadership must have charisma, strength and leadership to bring the critical mass behind him/her vision to make a PARADIGM-SHIFT. Here profitability in wealth is meaningless – profitability is only in the progress of the TOTAL Nation’s Wisdom.
JACK Welch (former CEO/Chairman GE) ones said winning is everything – I agree with him completely in business setting. However, I am equally opposite when it comes to Public leadership where the profit is guaranteed by the public’s collective wealth- but wisdom is not.
[Note from LA Times Tim Rutten:
This election is, to an extent unprecedented in recent history, about one man. It isn't even really about Sen. John McCain, formidable candidate that he is.
Obama's candidacy is a watershed moment, not simply in American politics but in American history. A little more than a century and a half after the end of chattel slavery, 50 years after the end of Jim Crow, a person of African descent is standing for the nation's highest office. This election is essentially a referendum on his character and abilities to lead and, to an undeterminable extent, on the willingness of some voters to put aside their racial anxieties.
If Obama's candidacy is to succeed, he needs to persuade a cross-section of American voters to say simply, "I'm willing to take a chance on him. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt."]
Obama’s critical strategic maneuvers for his “WINING SRATEGY” are most extraordinary and effective that includes galvanizing 25+ voters, utilizing electronic tools for communications, PR and education; brilliant media handling and news release/PR; dealing with negativity; announcement-timing of endorsements; foreign tours; switching views and stance as the wind suggested; and final selection of Joe BIDEN.
Will we move to the 21st century with the wisdom and humanity that are require to interact six-billions people around the globe?
