SACC inaugurates IdeaHub@SUS Tangori
Manipal Dhariwal, a serial entrepreneur with his IT business in USA and India, is gungho about the response SACC is getting from all stakeholders.
Looking at the need for the engineering colleges and startup ideas that had been emerging from there, SACC initiated a pilot project in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Group (SUS) of Institutes in Tangori, about 30kms away from Chandigarh, to set up a IdeaHub in the campus.
With the active participation of the management under the stewardship of Mr Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu, Chairman of SUS Group of Institutes, SACC successfully setup the first IdeaHub@SUS, an incubator for the students wishing to experiment with their ideas for a business or social enterprise.
Many young engineering students and faculty were working together for last six months to build up the space, and the best part was the first idea was pitched right there by one of the young faculty members of SUS, Er. C.S Kalra Asst. Prof Mechanical Engineering department, for manufacturing and marketing Mobile Poky, a device to charge one's mobile phone with ease.
Manipal Dhariwal has many more plans to turn youngsters and people with ideas towards entrepreneurship through hand-holding, mentorship, connect them with the successful entrepreneurs and investors community.
Already the co-working space has been launched two months back, Startup In A Box, in Sebiz Square Mohali, which is housing many new startups.
