I think no more words need to describe difference as I believe marketing is a task to get people to your door that's marketing and once you convert them in to your customer by providing service or product in exchange with money is selling

of course all the streams are important in business and business cant be run without all streams but Marketing is more important because no body starts business to produce and stock the goods because its only produce to sell and earn profit. and where we talk about selling, marketing is there. marketing is only task which get customer to your door.. now coming to the point for me marketing is very different than other streams in business because as I think there is no particular theory for marketing we have have to make theories to capture market as in competitive world we know there are no. of companies which produce same product to serve in same market so here we have to think different and here our marketing strategy decide success of our business. here in all streams marketing is only thing which change as per market trends, competition and many more factors...

I am 24 years old post graduated in Marketing and Retail management as specialization. now I am marketing professional working with one of reputed company.I am playing role to capture south Indian market for a company. when I was choose to serve in south Indian market I have no particular strategy in my mind, first thing I did is to face market, study it and made my own marketing strategy as per market and people I am always doing work to Improve marketing skills and as I am good at promotions too I am first prize winner at advertise making competition during my post graduation...
Branding
in current market brand is very much important factor because as we think as a customer or consumer brand is nothing but particular image of quality of product from particular company once you create brand and started selling a quality product under that brand, you will see your product and company making strong position, in any market we can see that if you provide any product without any brand which is more qualitative than branded one than also consumer will trust more to branded product only so now I think once you have build trusted brand, your product will be sold by your name only...thus I can say branding can be a reason to more success of any organization

As I belong to Jewelry field, for me most motivating factors are people who trust us and freedom to work no need to ask for permission again and again if we know that we are doing benefits for company..
Positioning the product
Well, I serve in Jewelry field and its very traditional kind of market as all of us know.this kind of market are very competitive in price of product and they gives more important to your relation with them because here trust comes first than business so first step is to build relation with buyer. so to capture and survive in market. my first priority to build relations which should be seems more like personal relation than business and once we succeed in it, we can say its very easy to start business on the base of relationship and once you did it you can easily start healthy business with particular buyer because on this stage buyer will give importance to your relation with them here they will ignore small price difference.. that is what I do to make strong and long term position in market..
Suggestions to aspirants
The only thing I can say is... there is no ready made marketing theory works in market because there are so many factor in market. Marketing strategy changes in every market, marketing theory will change in same market with two different buyers, so first face the market and make your own theory to serve market because this is the only thing works. and of course marketing is amazing stream than other once you enter in this stream you will find some positive changes in yourself.
