HR Strategies In Place
Presently I am retired and only teaching the management and law subjects if I am asked. Further it is difficult to summarize all strategies here.
Current HR Trends:
In India Human resource is pathetic stage. It has taken as process and not as a profession. The person who heads HR and Heads the Company should be Social scientist rather a businessman. No body is interested to study the Core competencies of HR in a systematic and detailed manner. It is unfortunate but it is true.
Relationship with HR and Top Management
it should be complimentary
Pain Points:
The profession of Human resource should come as a choice. Now a days Knowing little talking more is happening. If I say there are 20 core competencies and each competency has more than 1000 pages literature. No body believes and ready to accept. The quality of books written b Indian authors are not based on any research or practice but it is a compilation of various books.
Identifying and Promoting New Leaders:
it is not easy to answer and the question can not be answered in a generic way.
Helping to develop the country
We have change our mind set.Media should give coverage about Social accountability and give least importance for politicians and other unwanted things. As we do in corporate where we are accounting every pie and minute same accountability and Audits/checks should be there instead unearthing scams later on. Every village / area should be considered as an entity and all resources should be used effectively and benefits should be distributed. Every activity should be at the national interest and not at individual interest. Highest and lowest salary should in the ratio of 1:5 in any sector. There should be limit for wealth accumulation by any individuals. Children below 18 years and people above 65 years should be taken care by the Government.From 18 years on wards till 65 years every body should work minimum 48 hours per week and after 55 years 40 hrs per week.Government should allot the jobs.Every employment orders should be registered with the government.Advance countries are role model
Recruiting new generation:
There is no problems with the generation but with the people who are guiding them. Mentor ship and coaching is missing. We want strong and dedicated Mentors and also disciples.
Attract good people, Retain Better Performers and Advance the Best:
As a magnet attracts the iron.
Advice For Fellow HR Leaders:
Do not accept any thing as right unless you verify and satisfy and what ever you are gaining in the process , you own it. one should lead by examples and as a role model.
Recommended Reading
Only thing I can say tons of material is available in the book form. Not to depend upon on we sites due to heavy material difficult to choose what is right. Books are many and in hundreds.
Improving Education system
Quality is very poor and nowhere near to international standards. Education is considered as money making business. Exploiting the parents and children by giving false and unrealistic hopes. We have to separate the education department from politicians and Merit should be considered in every stage. We have to bench mark ourselves with international standards and it should be free. Research oriented approach should be there in every job what we do. Study Vedas and Upanishads where a lot of good materials are available. But I am not a fanatic either on religion or language. But what I say it is from international recognition what these have.
Parting Thoughts
Only thing I can say that there is no short cut for success. One to of gold ore if processed only 10 grams of gold is available and thus we have to search for purity and quality and remove wastage with out which we can not get what we desire.
