Nataraj S.n.'s Story
The Journey So Far:
It is like boarding a crowded train without a reservation. I am trying to carve a niche place in the crowd. The journey has begun and I need to complete it, come what may. I cannot afford to end the journey abruptly because of challenges I may have to face.
Job Profile:
I am the torch bearer for my organization. I need to find the path of success for my team to tread. I mentor my team to achieve excellence in whatever they endevor to do.
Career Profile:
I am solely responsible for the success of my organization. I have accepted the role of a business person whereas I was just an employee delivering tasks assigned by my employer in my previous role. I have started learning the nitty gritties of understanding my clients and satisfying them.
Degrees That Matter:
A formal qualification is definitely necessary. But more than the certification our commitment and conviction would contribute more towards our success.
Working Life Management:
I always spend quality time with my family. We all have enough time but not enough time management skill.
Done Differently:
I would be an Indian Classical Vocalist. I had a very deep interest in classical music and performing arts. I would definitely sing although my personality would not help me much in achieving great heights in performing arts.
Plans For The Future:
My dream is to create another Infosys. I will be happy if I am at least able to follow the footprints of my Dronacharya.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
I developed a patent pending technique of data replication/integration using an embedded device in record time. This technique avoids Internet traffic between a server and remote clients for the transfer of data from a client to the server.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
I am trying to avoid the unpleasant that I endured during my employment. I have tried to infuse more democracy in the organization by providing more freedom of expression.
Growth Strategy:
I am accepting accolades and criticism alike. I have made it a point to respect the openions and viewpoints of people who matter in my profession. I have started to master the art of listening. The more we listen the less we need to talk.
Other Thoughts:
Yes. We all blame others or our so called fate/destiny for all our failures. We need to implore ourselves to overcome our weaknesses and be garcious to accept our faults. All our agonies will vanish once we start the process of conquering ourselves.
Required Reading:
I would recommend books from great authors like Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Ms. Sudha Murthy in addition to magazines pertaining to the profession of the upcoming professionals. Because of search engines (Google) people have stopped reading.
Role Model:
I would say Mr. N.S. Narayana Murthy is like my Dronacharya if I am Ekalavya. Mr. Narayana Murthy is the symbol of success achieved by following the path of honesty, sincerity, diligence, perseverence and conviction. He has demonstrated that it is not the amount of money that counts for your success
