The Decisions That Matter
Becoming a journalist and thereafter working for civl society
Working Life Management:
I am 71 years of age I have had a bypass surgery I believe I can live longer if I have an active life. I am deeply involved in promoting Corporate Social Responsibility. I travel all over the country organising workshops for corporates and civil society of responsible business and sustainability.
Done Differently:
I have had much pleasure in the year gone by in my profession. I would not want a change to do anything differently
Changes In The Professional Environment:
Yes it has changed a lot in the area of journalism. For one thing journalists in India are better off. Professionally the profession has suffered since money more than professionalism is the mainstay of most presently in the profession
Other Thoughts:
Just that we need to think of others as we think of ourselves. If we move from ME to WE will we be better individuals and the world a better place to live for us and our future generations We are trustees of the resources of this planet we need to save it for our future generations
Advice For New Professionals:
Look for job satisfaction and service to other rather than material benefits. Excessive wealth does not bring pleasure or happiness it brings insecurity and constant worry As Gandhi said earn and spend what you need and use the remaining to serve fellow beings
Role Model:
Frankly I do not really have a role model. But one person who has impacted my life is my grand father who taught me the role of hard work even in old age
