Avadhesh R Varshneya's Story

The Journey So Far:
Having started from the RCDF, Jaipur about 32 years ago I remained in the Co-operative sector of dairy industry for 12 years and then joined the private plants for last 20 years. I can modestly claim to be having knowledge of all the activities of the industry.
Job Profile:
Presently I am the general manager of the unit where I have to coordinate each and every activity of the organization. The major activities include: procurement of milk, manufacturing of milk and milk products and distribution there of.
The Decisions That Matter
Decided to quit the State Govt. Dairy Federation of Rajasthan to join the private sector after 12 years of service. Also completed M. B. A. (marketing management) from AIMA, New Delhi
Career Profile:
Major responsibility is the minimization of the losses as this is a loss making unit. Perhaps the responsibilities I have shared in my life have always remained the same.
Degrees That Matter:
I have already secured the relevant degrees viz., B. Sc. (Dairy Technology) and also the M. B. A. May perhaps need some other courses associated with the computers or soft ware.
Working Life Management:
I am generally away from my wife and children. It is the life of a saint I am passing. The whole day is dedicated to the job and when I get tired I go to sleep.
Plans For The Future:
wish to be a part of some big business group to help them start with the dairy business from the scratch.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
I consider my Yoga knowledge which has grown over the period of time as the service continues as an achievement. This gives me strength to face to turbulence of the private sector jobs which have no certainty of life.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
Drastically. When I joined the job we had no calculators even. Now there are upheaval technological changes which have brought real revolution to the industries from all viewpoints.
Growth Strategy:
Try to be sincerely interested in the people apart from the works I am entrusted to get done and do myself.
Other Thoughts:
I practice Yoga for the mental peace.
Required Reading:
One book I have already mentioned is An Autobiography of a Yogi. The others may be the Experiments with Truth by M K Gandhi. There are lots of web sites which can be surfed by an enlightened professionals using internet.
Role Model:
Swami Yoganand (He also wrote his auto biography called Yogi Kathamrut in Hindi or Marathi). He tried to explain the simple fact of life that we are not the one we think or we look to be.
