Raghu Spr's Story

The Journey So Far:
Not much its only 8 years in corporate world, Lot left with ladder
The Decisions That Matter
I started my career as sales executive in service industry, i..e selling education concept in small town, small town from karnataka to mumbai is big decision, language was a big barrier that time, in 2005 moving from service sector to Pharma is big jump that given result in recession period 2008
Degrees That Matter:
No none of my education or books related questions were asked in my interviews nor I faced any case study situation learn in management, decisions are instant and that yield results in my career life.
Working Life Management:
Lets not culminate both, avoid work on sundays and weekends, and weekends are compulsory with family, I do not carry my laptop to home, it means 50% work you have avoided, rest is phone we cannot avoid its inevitable,
Done Differently:
If at all chance given I will become agriculturist on science and technology base. Back bone of any country and major contributor to your country GDP
Plans For The Future:
Its difficult to answer, reality and plans do not go parallel, if plan works I will be at Senior Management Position in next five years
Changes In The Professional Environment:
It was really challenging situation when I joined , its transformation time in all aspects, oldies are not ready incorporate technology, its obvious reaction from there angle, but we have move forward retaining old talent tank with new technology and we did it, now oldies induct our new bees
Growth Strategy:
Self assessment is the best, always be with team tough times and good times, update yourself with the trend before your team do. Listen your mates problems. Be first for any challenging project.
Required Reading:
I never recommend industry related books or magazine, who writes in that books a man/woman like you , how they got that idea on work or when they face the problem. So face all the problems directly, be analytical rather than theoretical.
Advice For New Professionals:
Be honest with your work, authority will not be given by somebody, if work with authority rest all start fall in place, work with dignity, never hesitate to take extra work, risk or project, this will open new window to your experience and new dimension to your career
Role Model:
My role model in personal life is my grand father, he started his career as govt primary school teacher (after completion of 10th) and retired as college principals (at that time he completed his masters with teachers training) and his simple life and huge student followers till today.
