The Decisions That Matter
My change from Electronics to Computers.
Career Profile:
Copy editing is what i'm into now. I was earlier into content development.
Working Life Management:
Close the stores and get back home. Though you might face hurdles in your career don't let it show in your family life. They are pretty smart to understand that.
Done Differently:
Stick on to my Electroncs background.
Plans For The Future:
CIO
Prized Accomplishment(s):
Microsoft Hardware Certification, CCNA, LPI Linux+ certification and a whole bunch of excellent troubleshooting issues.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
I come from an engineering background having completed my BE (Electronics) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Through these times my career has gone though rough patches and smooth ones. Right now I work as a freelance technical writer with a private company in Hyderabad as a startup.
Growth Strategy:
Ensure team huddles. Identify bench warmers. Assign the right task to the right person and also simultaneously give him/her a tap on the back once in a while.
Required Reading:
Shiv Khera is good. Robin Sharma as well. ITWorld keeps you updated. Webninars from companies certainly help keep you in the loop.
Advice For New Professionals:
Whatever profession you're in expect change, that's the only thing that is constant. Though it sounds like an oxymoron, that's how it is. You need to constantly keep updating your skills and grow up the corporate ladder with a goal in mind. While setting a goal also consider keep a timeframe in mind
Role Model:
Steve Jobs. The Mac says it all.
