Shivranjan Prabhakar Kolvankar's Story
The Journey So Far:
Being 2012 pass out student, it is very difficult to answer this one, but certainly being a research scholar at prestigious research center in Pune and then being a project intern at automobile company, it helps me out in understanding my personality in new way. Everyday I explore new side of me.
Job Profile:
Well certainly its hardest one, but I'm intern at one of the embedded instrumentation device development organization, and it says all for an intern. Now, being in trainee stage we are grasping key skills required to survive in industry. Exploring new dimensions of this field every day.
Career Profile:
Being an intern we don't have much responsibilities to carry out, but then we learn from our senior professionals in the organization, how it is important to carry out given responsibility. One important fact is that corporates are now a days looking for sincere and honest people over others.
Degrees That Matter:
I work in the field of Robotics, Control, Calibration of instruments, Embedded Systems. Well degree can fetch you a job, but to survive in this field you need strong motivation, patience and thorough professional approach. M.Sc Instru./Electronics can certainly help you out, other than engineering.
Working Life Management:
I do enjoy my work with MATLAB, C, and Sensors and then I enjoy the precious moments with my parents and friends. I usually go on trekking, and most specially avoid overnight killing workouts, but enjoys to finish the given task within given time.
Done Differently:
Well thank GOD! somebody asked me this question, I will be writing poetry and teaching kids, if I had to start my career all over again. Someday or other in life I will start all over again.
Plans For The Future:
Holding a research degree in hands is so far distant goal for me. But, to be honest with myself, I want to be the part of industry where I will be recognized by my work, and certainly I want to pursue my doctoral studies.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
Nothing so far to be proud of, but my parents are really happy for where I stand today. That one is really hard one to achieve, isn't it?
Changes In The Professional Environment:
Its been hardly two months here , so no big changes in me as well as environment but, what changed is my professional attitude towards my work, and "I can do it" way of work is inside me now.
Other Thoughts:
One thing I want to share, I have lost a year or two of my education just because I was not properly guided, and second one is, fake institutions across country, first college of mine was one of them. Well if you clean them first then the institutions in country are enough to make India empowered.
Required Reading:
Hear to those fairy tell that grandma tells you, if someone have time then go for Bhagvad-Gita. Hardly any website is their that I have referred but, The Alchemist and Monk who sold his Ferrari is good one. If possible, think on this line, "Even those without hands have their fortune."
Advice For New Professionals:
Be honest with your work, be professional, give time to your family when you are with family, and follow work when at work. Follow your needs but do not turn greedy. And last but not the least, don't kill your time at your workplace.
Role Model:
For me role model is one who brings changes to the thought process of society and tries to happen those changes in reality. My role model, my "AAI and BABA", father and mother of mine. They taught me how to survive in real life by their life. And I owe to them my life.
