Sven Wifstrand's Story

The Journey So Far:
Many ups and downs, up now!
Job Profile:
I am in a group of 8 people who advise and support the payroll administration in an organization of 2000 employees.
The Decisions That Matter
To abandon a possible university career and take full time office work because it was safer.
Career Profile:
I was in private employment some years, but now in municipal administration like before.
Working Life Management:
Tolerably!
Done Differently:
I should have had more trust in myself and less in advisors.
Plans For The Future:
Having retired, living a good life I hope!
Prized Accomplishment(s):
Having had a lot of patience, I think.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
At the beginning there was still a lot of manual work. Typewriters, forms to fill in by hand, loads of printed documents to file. Now computers do most of the work.
Other Thoughts:
If you have taken a decision that turns out badly, think carefully about why, but don't be ashamed of it.
Required Reading:
Major newszines in English like BBC, CBS, Guardian
Advice For New Professionals:
Tough question. Young people meet many difficulties today. Have patience, that is all I can say.
