How Hp client engineers solve sound issues

1. Hp.com mainly supports the original Operating System that comes with the laptop;
2. Some of the hp drivers in the list are not provided by the official hp support site;
3. This post is just engineer’s personal summary, so it’s only for users’ reference.
Installing sound card
Sound card installation notice: install Microsoft UAA driver first, then install the sound driver. The system doesn’t need to install UAA SP3 version.
Microsoft UAA driver:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe
The computer system will recognize 2 audio devices in bus driver, to ensure the stability of your operating system, check your hardware ID information and then complete step 1 and step 2 and remember to avoid blue and bad screen.  
Step 1
Install the following drivers if you can install them successfully. If you can’t, try manually install them.

If the sound card make noises after installation, try to cancel the power saver option in the IDT controller under the control panel. If it still doesn’t work, update it. )
Installing sound driver 
Step 1
1. Install sound card UAA bus driver before installing the sound driver program;  
2. Extract the sound card;
3. Click “Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus” in the device manager, right click it to update driver;
4. Choose “install from the list or specified location (advanced)” in the hardware upgrade guide;
choose “do not search, choose the driver to be installed by myself”
5. Choose “audio, video and game controller” in the hardware type;
6. Choose “install from the disc” and then click “browse” to locate the file to the extracted folder;
find the driver download file _\WDM\Winxp\STHDA.inf_, double click-ok, open “next step” and “update driver warning” will pop up, just ignore the note and continue the installation. After installation, the sound card device will work properly.
Step 2
Double click the other audio device in the bus driver, choose detailed information tag, if you see VEN_10DE, continue the installation as follows:
1. Download HD audio nvidia hdmi.rar and extract it;
2. Go to the device manager and click “Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus” and update driver by right click;
3. Choose “install from the list or specified location (advanced)” in the hardware upgrade guide;
4. Choose “do not search, choose the driver to be installed by myself”
5. Choose “audio, video and game controller” in the hardware type;
6. Choose “install from the disc” and then click “browse” to locate the file to the extracted files;
7. Find the nvhda.inf driver file, double click-ok, open “next step” and “update driver program warning” will pop up, just ignore the reminder and continue the installation. After installing the sound driver, the sound card will work normally.
SP3 version system audio card installation
If the system is SP3 version and you can not find the High Definition Audio Bus under the device manager, you will need to find the “Microsoft for High Definition Audio UAA”. Right click to stop and restart it, you will find the new hardware and then click to cancel under “system device” in the device manager. Right click the property on the unknown device-detailed information-hardware ID and then install the sound card and HDMI driver according to the hardware ID. If the sound card disappears after restarting the computer, just reinstall the sound driver, after the sound card works normally install IDT sound card disappear patch.
