How I got sound back after system reinstall
After reinstalling the system, it’s really troublesome to lose the sound. Luckily, there are answers and help from the internet besides efficient program or best driver updater. Here, just share you how I get the sound back after reinstalling system with the help I get from the internet.
Common sense
Microsoft UAA Bus driver-Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture HD audio driver program is a driver for Realtek or other new AC97 audio standard HD Audio Bus system or support from Microsoft, also it’s one of the first AA High definition audio driver announced by the Microsoft company. This patch is one of the Windows key patches, SP2 and SP3 versions all need patches to run perfectly. So, if your computer lose sound, it’s probably due to this.
This problem can also be resulted from SP3 system trouble. The symptoms are these:
No sound so neither can we watch movies nor listen to music. It’s really depressing.
And the following problems with the device manager can also lead to no sound issue:
1.There is “!” in front of the Realtek high definition audio driver and we can not delete it.
2.There is a “!” in front of the UAA Bus driver of the High Definition Audio used by Microsoft.
Even though you continued uninstalling and scanning the hardware with driver update software for a few times, the sound driver in the motherboard still can not be installed. What’s worse, the Realtek high definition audio can not be uninstalled either, so all I can do is enter the safe mode and found the files that have related properties.
Under the following address X: X:\win\sys32\drivers, delete these two files Hdaudbus.sys,Hdaudio.sys and finally uninstall the “!” mark. Restart and go back to the normal mode and uninstall the Realtek high definition audio. The sound driver can be installed, the HDD sound driver can be successfully installed on it too, but the sound has still not come back!
Thankfully, the information online reminded me that the issue could resulted from lack of AA High Definition Audio patch. SP2’s program patch is kb888111, SP3 is KB835221. So I found SP3’s patch on line, install it and the sound is finally back to normal. ;)
