How to fix common printer issues
Printer could have issues now and then. If you connect your printer with your laptop ATI or ASUS and it still has a lot of printing problems, not always it will work if you found and installed a right ATI drivers or ASUS drivers for printer from amd.com or asus.com. Why? We need to figure out what kind of printer issue it is cause printer doesn’t print because of a lot of reasons. In this post, I am very happy to introduce you several common printer problems. If you use the right way, the printer should be back to normal easily and fast. ;)
1. Light printing
For Dot matrix printer, the issue could be caused by these factors: dried up ink, broken print head, far away putter position. We can solve the problem by replacing the ribbon and adjust the putter; for inkjet printers, nozzle clogging, dry ink, incorrect ink type, aired ink tube, high-temperature printing can all causing light printing writing; For laser printer, litter toner inside, low voltage or bad toner sensitivity can leads to the issue. So we have to take the toner cartridge out and shake it. If the printing effect hasn’t become better, we should change the toner cartridge or adjust the switch under the printing toner cartridge to match it with the toner sensitivity.
2. Some printing is clear, some is fuzzy
This phenomenon normally happens with the Dot matrix printer, the inkjet printer could possibly have this issue too but mainly because the printing head is not paralleled with the printing roller thus making the distance farer or nearer. To solve it, just adjust the distance between printing head and printing roller and make them paralleled.
3. There is stain on the paper
Dot matrix printer repeatedly appears dirty and it may be caused by removal ribbon hair or excessive ink, replacing ribbon cartridge should work. The inkjet printers repeated appears dirty can be due to leaking ink. When the nozzle performance is poor, the spray of ink and the remaining ink can not be good in equilibrium. However, if this is with the laser printing, we can conclude some regularity. For example, if the 12 kinds of rolls are turned more than one lap, the largest drum turn 2 or 3 laps, the feed roller should be turned 10 laps. When the paper appears evenly stains, it is probably resulted from dirt or damaged roll.
4. Printing head can not move flexibly, stop and Ding all the time or shake where it is
Due to long time of printing head slide, it will become dry and the printing head will be blocked. When it reached a certain extent, the printer will stop. If this is not timely dealt with, the printer driver circuit can be burned terribly. To fix it, we can paint drops of instrument oil, back and forth move the print head so that it evenly distributed. After reboot, if there is still blocked phenomenon, it could be the burned circuit and we should deliver the printer to the maintenance department.
5. Wrong characters printing
No matter the garbled phenomenon is with Dot matrix printers, inkjet printers or laser printers, the issue is normally due to circuit damage or Host microcontroller damage. Practically, the printer connector circuit damage is much more common since the connector circuit uses micro power support, once the connector makes high voltage when connector has power, the connector chip may be damaged easily. In this case, just changing the connector chip and the issue should be gone.
