How to edit Canon, Sony, Panasonic, JVC AVCHD with FCP, Adobe Premiere Pro

On a DVD-based camcorder the BDMV directory is placed at the root level, as on the Blu-ray Disc. On the HDD-based Canon HG10 camcorder the BDMV directory is located in the AVCHD directory, which is placed at the root level.

AVCHD recordings can be transferred to a computer by connecting the camcorder via the USB connection. Removable media like SDHC and Memory Stick cards or DVD discs can be read on a computer directly. Copying files from an AVCHD camcorder or from removable media can be performed faster than from a tape-based camcorder, because the transfer speed is not limited by realtime playback.

However, these AVCHD recordings can’t be imported to FCP, Adobe Premiere Pro for Mac users as below.

Q1: GH2 AVCHD Lite to FCP 6 on Mac?

I also choose AVCHD Lite as the recording mode from My Lumix DMC-GH2, as it also provides high quality videos. However, it is not easy to edit movies in this format on Mac, as it requires high configuration to handle AVCHD Lite videos. I want to edit Panasonic GH2 AVCHD Lite videos on Mac Final Cut Pro 6 without Rendering. Any Help ?

Q2: How do I import AVCHD files into Adobe Premiere Pro?

I open up Bridge to search for the files, but when I get to the folder, all I see are .mts and .cpi files. How do I import or load into Premiere Pro?

For resolve this problem, you can choose AVCHD Converter for Mac. AVCHD to FCP Converter are designed for Canon, Panasonic, Sony, JVC camcorder users to convert AVCHD MTS/M2TS to FCP (Final Cut Pro) formats MP4, MOV, DV, HDV. Then you also can import AVCHD to FCP or AVCHD to Adobe Premiere for editing your camcorder footage captured with AVCHD formats.
