Modifying PDF Documents May be Secretly Tracked
A agency called Remote Approach launched a series of products, which have taken advantage of Adobe's function to track the use of the document. If the document is modified, it will email a copy of the changes to the company's servers.
The greatest benefit of doing so is to prevent users from forging a new document, and allow the company to find out the place of these documents.
Adobe was shocked when it realized that its products can be used this way. In particular, this is very likely to turn Acrobat and Reader documents into spyware.
Australian Age Mark Phibbs said version 7.05 of Acrobat and Reader documents have been updated, a dialog box will pop up when you open a document marked by Remote Approach software. This makes the reader can decide whether to accept the fact that the documentation they have to read is tracked.
He also said, Adobe also introduced digital signature technology into its software in order to improve the security and confidentiality, and also to verify the authenticity of the document.
