Forming Alliances with Foreign Universities for International Degrees-Is it Good or Bad?

Nowadays, different foreign universities based at different parts of the world are forming an alliance and offering different degree programs. Following this trend, premium educational institutions based in India are forming alliances with foreign universities in order to offer degree programs. So, the question is, will this do any good or will this be bad for the students and their future.

Looking on the brighter side, when two or more international universities unite, it will always lead to better exposure. Since the students are offered options to pursue their education in both campuses, they get more insight into the culture and the system of learning. This will also help them to create a network of friends and faculty who would be helpful in guiding them in the future years. The best part would be the degree which is to be given by more than one University which would be a plus point when you apply for a job.

However, it is important that you do a background check of the universities which are associating and their credentials. Sometimes, the universities turn out to be fake ones, what is being shown in the brochures or videos may not be actually implemented which could lead to frustration among the students. Usually, the alliance between universities and their courses are rather new in design so there could be problems in imparting the knowledge or giving in depth view on the subject.

According to the experts, the alliance between universities is for making their presence felt and reach out to the international students and gain commercial benefits. But, there are genuine alliances too, which focus more on knowledge transfer and providing the students with the required infrastructure and guidance. This new concept has been increasing. It is important to note that before going for the admission, the students need to confirm the  authenticity of the course along with the weightage of the degree they would be getting from the concerned university.
