Prioritization of Tasks (Time Management)
We all now know there are four categories which we can make in our minds which will help us in prioritizing
tasks: important, not important, urgent and not urgent.
The real challenge comes not so much in categorizing our tasks, but in the honesty with which we do it. One of our deepest habits is taking something, which is not important, and making it urgent in our minds, in order to avoid doing what is important.
The important task, which we want to avoid is usually a complicated exercise requiring focused energy. The manager avoids calling a team meeting (important) by making a product review (not that important yet) very urgent. The father avoids spending time with the children (important) by making late nights at the office (not essential) urgent.
Question: Identify two things, which you know are important, but that you are avoiding, by making something, which is not that, important, urgent?
Reflection: Why do you think you are doing that?
